Recently a Huge oil discovery in Rio de Janero could raise Brazil's oil reserves. This oil could make Brazil one of the largest oil exporters. It is being said that this oil reserve could hold as much as 8 million barrels. This could make Brazil one of the worlds top 10 oil producers.

Lindsey Lohan was put in jail for 84 minutes Thursday for charges of drunk driving. Lohan turner herself in on Thursday morning at 10:30. The sheriff stated that she was very cooperative. She originally had a day long sentence but due to overcrowding she was released at 11:54. The jail said that she received no special treatment.

There's a new cold virus going around and it has killed 10 people in the past 18 months. The virus is an adenovirus. Adenovirus's are virus's that cause respiratory infections but they are not usually lethal. The virus going around is a mutation of the Adenovirus. The CDC in Atlanta says not to be worried about the virus.

People in America often give all their old computer, cell phones, and televisions to special organizations for recycling. They think they are doing something good for the environment. However they are causing a problem overseas. Activists have estimated that 50-80 percent of Americans 400,000 tons of electronic trash each year go overseas to landfills. It is said that its being recycled but its being recycled in the most horrific way overseas. This is causing a lot of toxic chemicals to go into the environment.

Jimmie Johnson is in the lead right now for the cash for the Cup. Johnson has an 86 point lead over his teammate Jeff Gordon. When Johnson whens the chase he will be only the 10th driver to have ever won the chase 2 years in a row in Nascar history. Johnson is almost guaranteed to win the chase where he is standing right now.

Bounce city, a local business in Anderson, is being accused of a couple things lately. An Anderson lady has accused Bounce City of using recycled cat litter sand in one of its sand pits for little kids to play in. Another complaint was said that a lady was physically taken out of the building for breast feeding. The board of health was called in and they did an analysis of the sand and they did find cat urine. Scott Hester, Bounce city owner, says that the sand has been completely changed now and they even built new sand pits.

A nuclear waste landfill in Columbia, S.C. is closing next summer and this is putting 36 states in jeopardy. The landfill was opened in 1971 and is 235 acres. They are no longer going to be in operation so now hospitals, colleges, and power plants are now going to be in danger because they are going to have to store all there nuclear waste on there own property.

On November 4, 2007 king Tuts tomb was opened for the first time. The actual tomb was discovered around 85 years ago and they just now uncovered him. The 19 year old king was placed in a climate controlled box to preserve him. People are really trying to take care of him.

There has been widespread flooding in souther Mexico this past week. Its reported that 8 people have died in Villhermosa, Mexico this past week. One of the victims was an 8 year old girl. Officals are trying to make waters recede by controling the dams but its not working all that well. Another major factor is the alligators. They have started to invade the towns.

Health News

5 million General Mills pizzas were recalled on thursday. The recall was due to E. coli. These pizzas were under the Totins's and Jeno's labels. The E. coli was on the peperoni they buy from a separate supplier. General Mills didnt give up the name of that supplier.

On saturday Anderson held a "Clean-up" day. This is the 2nd clean-up day this year. The first one was held in the spring. Andersons clean-up day is a day when people can bring old tires and household items and throw them away. This helps out so people dont dump in illegal places.

Muncie Firefighters recently saved a baby from a buring building. The Baby was 8 months old. Tim Hale and Kelley Morey rushed into the blaze and rescued the baby. Unfortunatly the fire did kill one 18 year old girl. The Child is currently being treated at an Indianapolis hospital.
